There are so many ways you can help in the fight to reform abortion law and support those in making their choice about their body. Here are just a few particular things you can get involved with -
Attend local actions:
We need a big show of support for the right to choose. Politicians sit up and take notice when 100s meet up in the local park and 1000s march in the streets. Let's make them sit up, take notice and vote in support of removing abortion from the Criminal Code. If you're keen on this action, we can send you information on events in support of abortion law reform in your area.
Talk to your local MP about supporting reform with Fair Agenda:
One of the most effective ways to create change and bring about abortion law reform is by meeting your local member of parliament and talking about it face to face, or sending them a personal letter asking them to support changes. If you're keen on this action, we can link you in with Fair Agenda, who will be leading this activity.
Become a Pro Choice Defender:
Right now, anti-choice people are congregating outside clinics that offer abortion services in order to shame, harass and bully patients. At the request of these clinics, Pro Choice Queensland volunteers attend the clinic to help escort patients into the clinic without being accosted.
Help out in the office:
We're primarily a volunteer-organised movement, so your assistance in mailing out stickers to our rural and regional supporters, responding to supporter emails and so on will help us greatly.
